The Foundation for A Healing Among Nations - Women's Tour for Global Understanding

In order to facilitate requests from over thirteen cities we have prepared a WTGU Checklist. We sincerely hope you will join us in helping to awaken the hearts and minds of the world.

Overview: The Women’s Tour for Global Understanding is a project of the Foundation for A Healing Among Nations. Twelve women from Afghanistan, Palestine, Iraq and Israel will visit selected American cities for a ten day tour designed to develop a deeper understanding between nations, and promote global kinship between women of diverse cultures.

Partners: Each visiting woman will be partnered with an American woman who has volunteered for the project. These volunteers will be oriented by a WTGU staff member and supplied with background information regarding the culture, traditions, history and geographical locations of the countries and visitors involved. Local coordination organization will make selection of partners.

WTGU -Before the tour: Two days before the tour’s official beginning Middle East and Persian Gulf women arrive in host city. Airline tickets are secured by the Foundation for A Healing Among Nations. Visitors are housed in American homes during all or most of their stay.

WTGU Day(s) 1-5: Intensive peace-building training for the visiting women and their American partners. A limited number of members from the host organization(s) may be chosen to join the training.

WTGU Day(s) 6 & 7: Opening ceremonies, school visits, community forums, circles, press conferences, spiritual and religious activities, and other local events take place. Activities are planned by the host organization(s) in each city in conjunction with the WTGU Director.

WTGU Day(s) 7 & 8: WTGU staff plans two day retreat intensive for visiting women, their partners, and other women desiring to participate. Global connections are deepening and strengthened.

WTGU Day(s) 9 & 10: - Closing ceremonies, optional local activities, packing and departure.
